2020 Reading List

During 2020 my goal was to read at least 30 books and I ended up finishing with 31!  I wanted to share a list of them with you al! Reading used to be something I never enjoyed and something that wasn’t a priority but over the last year I have learned to love it. I would love to hear any of your book suggestions to add to this years list! I put my favorites in bold!

  1. Bear Town by Fredrick Backman

This book was a struggle for me to get into but by the end I enjoyed it

2. The Wonder by Emma Donoghue 

This book is a fairly quick read and one I really enjoyed

3. All the Light we Cannot See by Anthony Doeer

This book is one of my new favorites. The author is incredible and I cant recommend it enough

4. The Family Upstairs by Lisa Jewell

This book is different from ones I normally read but I was intrigued by it the whole time

5. The Girls in the Garden by Lisa Jewell

6. The House We Grew Up In by Lisa Jewell

7. An American Marriage by Tayari Jones 

I really enjoyed this authors style and it was a great read

8. The Mothers by Britt Bennet 

9. Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng

Another one that I loved! They turned this into a tv show that I haven’t watched yet but want too 

10. Dinner List by Rebecca Serle

11. The Last House Guest by Megan Miranda

12. The Nightingale by Kristen Hannah 

This book quickly became one of my all-time favorites and also Kristin Hannah is one of my new favorite authors. I couldn’t put this book down

13. The Lost Girls of Paris by Pam Jenof

14. The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah

Another fantastic book by Kristin Hannah that I highly recommend 

15. The vanishing Half by Britt Benne

16. Relationship Goals by Michael Todd

17. Just Mercy By Bryan Stevenson

Very current for this year and a book that challenged me and grew me

18. Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah

19. Room by Emma Donoghue 

This book is one that I struggled so much with the writing style and had a hard time finishing 

20. Little Bee by Chris Cleave  

21. You cannot burn the son by Matthew Charles

This book is written by a close and dear friend of mine and I can’t recommend it enough. It is a collections of his poems from his experiences this summer as a black person living in Madison during the protests and riots 

22. Long Gone by Alafair Burke

23. Sometimes I lie by Alice Feeney

This one is definitely messes with you and is a psychological thriller 

24. Elevation by Stephen King 

First book I’ve read by him and I want to read some more this year 

25. Into the Wild by Jon Krauer

26. The Time Keeper by Mitch Albom 

27. Tuesays with Morrie by Mitch Albom 

Heartwarming and one that I loved the characters 

28. The holdout by Graham Moore 

Fantastic book, I want to read more by this author and genre 

29. Cilkas Journey by Heather Morris 

30. I’ll be gone in the dark by Michelle Macbamara 

This book was very intriguing and interesting but a little to real life for me. It might make you a bit paranoid about serial killers and people breaking into your house 

31. The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware 

I own a decent amount of these books and happy to lend them to you if you want and excited to see your recommendations!
